A huge fan of butterflies, Karen discovered this gorgeous Origami inspired butterfly salon clip on her world
travels searching for wearable hair artworks. She was so enchanted with these little beauties that she bought out
the tiny shop where she discovered them. Available in lavender, blue violet and red (as shown here) Karen
has the butterflies clipped to her personal computer where she can admire the way the light captures the shimmering wings.
And yes, she loves wearing one in her hair, clipped to her purse or her favorite fashions.
In essence this silver hued (nickel plated) mini salon claw clip (similar to an alligator jaw clip) has a spectacular
hand crafted paperlike butterfly floating on top. There are literally hundreds of different species throughout
the world of this beloved creature. In this case, there is no danger that the glitter encrusted butterfly will
fly away since it is carefully affixed to the salon clip by means of a small invisible strip of dark red ribbon.
The golden glitter wrapped body and double antennae of the butterfly are all resting peacefully against
the top of the clip and thus covers the clip nicely where it would be mostly invisible when placed in a gorgeous updo,
twist or other section of luscious locks.
The approximately 2 1/2" wide butterfly (at its widest wing span) has two separate wings that
are designed to represent true wings on Nature's jewel with the top wings wider. The wings are carefully decorated
with hand applied golden sprinkles of glitter accented throughout with complimentary shades of purple and tiny red accents.
This magical ornately decorated butterfly encrusted salon clip was designed to mesmerize, shimmer & sparkle.
This piece is reminiscent of a beautifully hand folded & cut Origami butterfly encrusted w/a gorgeous pattern of
golden glitter along with dashes of emerald green and light and dark lavender accent glitter. An elegant &
high shimmer piece.
The nickel plated silver hued salon clip that the gorgeous butterfly is floating on top of is approximately
1 3/4" long from the rounded tip to the end which opens and closes by gently pressing the two ends of the clip together.
The clip opens approximately 1" wide to hold 1-2" inches of hair. While this clip will work well for most hair
types and textures, keep in mind that it is a delicate piece of wearable hair art and is not designed to function as
a major hair grip. While it will hold small amounts of hair it will not hold massive amount.
The jaw is approx. 1/2" wide at the widest points and opens approx 1". A gorgeous way to hold an updo or twist for
evening or day wear.
One legend of the butterfly is that wherever it lands it brings beauty and good luck. Therefore Karen was especially
thrilled when one of her favorite magazines - Teen People - chose the Lavender version of the glittery butterfly
- dubbed Madame Butterfly to perch at the top of their April 2005 Purple Passion Beauty Crave feature.
