Aromatherapy has been in use for over 6,000 years. Many people for
centuries have discovered that aromatherapy is a powerful tool for physical,
mental and emotional healing. I have to confess that I am an aromatherapy
junkie. I first discovered this fascinating discipline when I was in
England in the late 80s. I had the pleasure of discovering some amazing
bookstores crammed full of aromatherapy and herbal remedy books in London.
I was fascinated. I started reading about aromatherapy oils and have never
stopped.
When my own hair started falling out in the early 90s because of crash
dieting I turned to aromatherapy oils to help recover my hair. I love
Peppermint oil to give me a natural energy lift in the mornings and I love
Orange when the stress gets to me. I use aromatherapy in my bath oils, my
hot oil treatments and my soaps. I burn aromatherapy candles for special
occasions and keep my guest bathroom stocked with fabulous Almond and Oatmeal
Cookie soaps from Sappo Hill.
Yes aromatherapy smells fabulous but it really works. Lots of studies
have proven that aromatherapy offers major benefits.
I have always found that any aromatherapy products that I give as gifts are
always very much appreciated. Most of my loved ones receive at least one present
that is aromatherapy related for Christmas, birthdays or anniversaries.
This amazing little pocketbook is stuffed full of great information. It
contains the following items of information:
- A list of the best essential oils for each particular condition
- Tips on making your very own formulas
- Fifty recipes for improving your complexion, boosting your emotions, and
healing physical disorders
- Special section on first-aid, childhood problems and issues and emotional
well-being.
This handy little reference book also contains recipes for skin (acne &
wrinkles), hair and overall beauty. A list of oils used for the prevention
of hair loss are included (my own personal favorite Basil Oil is
listed).
If you are interested in aromatherapy but not sure if you want to take the
plunge, this book is little and inexpensive and will allow you go get your feet
wet without a major investment of time and/or money. I strongly recommend
this little gem of wisdom.
